Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Health, Safety and Well‑Being Advisor who will act as a trusted expert, change catalyst, and business partner to elevate our H&S standards and sustainably evolve our prevention culture.
As a Senior H&S Advisor, you will play a strategic and influential role at the heart of the organization. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and bringing to life high‑impact health, safety, and well‑being programs, while supporting managers and teams across Canada.
Through your expertise, human‑centred approach, and ability to mobilize others, you will actively contribute to creating safe, healthy, compliant, and engaging work environments where prevention becomes a shared mindset.
Role and Responsibilities
I. Development, Implementation and Management of Health, Safety and Well‑Being Programs, Systems and Communications (75%)
- Design, optimize, and deploy health, safety, and well‑being programs, policies, and procedures aligned with business strategy and legal requirements.
- Develop engaging implementation strategies (tools, training, communications, campaigns, and initiatives) that drive adoption and long‑term sustainability of best practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to People & Culture teams and leaders to strengthen the health and safety culture in the field.
- Analyze organizational prevention and well‑being challenges, recommend innovative solutions, and support informed decision‑making.
- Lead and deliver structured continuous improvement projects aimed at evolving H&S practices and behaviours.
- Manage H&S performance indicators, including data analysis, action recommendations, documentation compliance, audits, and inspections.
II. Operational Support (25%)
- Work closely with the H&S team to prioritize and support the prevention plan and program.
- Conduct field audits and inspections, coach and support managers, and contribute to identifying training needs and selecting external partners.
What are we looking for
- University degree in a relevant field (occupational health and safety, industrial relations) or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in occupational health and safety prevention management in a national context.
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of OHS and well‑being programs.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior advisory role, including the drafting of OHS policies, procedures and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health and Safety legislation; knowledge of workers’ compensation systems outside Quebec and the CNESST retrospective rating program is considered a strong asset.
- Bilingual in French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with Belron teams across Canada and globally.
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for business travel.
Key Assets
- Experience in a multi‑site environment (retail or distribution).
- Knowledge of the ISO 45001 standard.
Work Arrangement
- This position offers a hybrid work model, with an expected in‑office presence of at least two days per week to foster collaboration.
- Travel within Canada is required approximately 25% of the time.
