As a member of the property's Leadership Committee, the Director of Sales & Marketing is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership as well as the local hospitality community.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME IN THIS ROLE

The Director of Sales & Marketing has direct oversight of the Sales and Marketing operations of the hotel. Responsibilities include the Sales and Marketing Budget/P&L, revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing and writing business plans and participation in ownership meetings. Additionally, this role leads the development and implementation of both short-term and long-term strategies in all sales and marketing channels to achieve the hotel’s revenue goals and increase market share performance.

The Director of Sales & Marketing leads a varied and experienced team of Sales Managers and administrative staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and hiring of all sales positions, training, supervising and coaching managers in their selling and servicing processes in order to meet established goals and maximize hotel revenues. The DOSM will implement and monitor all transient and group contractual agreement procedures such as rate and meeting space commitments. Other responsibilities include overseeing the management of retaining, reactivating and acquiring accounts. The Director of Sales & Marketing reports directly to the General Manager with oversight from the Regional Vice President of Sales. Additionally, the DOSM plays a key part in interacting with the convention bureau and other local hospitality related stakeholders.

Salary range: $170,000 - $180,000

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years or more in a role of Director of Sales & Marketing in a large upscale full-service hotel preferably with knowledge of local, national, North American and international markets
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Results driven, energetic and focused
  • Service oriented style with professional presentation skills
  • Possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume environment, excellent communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills
