Job Title: Medical Assistant
Reports To: Center Manager
Summary:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in examination and treatment of patients under direction of the Physician.

Major Responsibilities:
- Interviews patients and measures vital signs, including pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; records information on patients' charts
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Drapes patient with coverings and positions instruments and equipment
- Hands instruments and materials to doctor, as directed
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
- Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
- Inputs data into computer to maintain office and patient records
- Assists doctor with charting
- Conducts hart auditing, CPT, and ICD-9 reviews
- Performs venipunctures, EKG's, vital signs, blood draws, and injections
- Preps patient for examination and treatment, and assists during minor office procedures
- Prepares exam and treatment rooms (instrument preparation and sterilization, prescription refills, faxing, and filing)
Requirements:
- Must hold a Medical Assistant Diploma
- Must have experience performing EKGs, blood draws, vital signs, and IM injections
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced work environment
- Must have a neat and professional appearance
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions:
- Center-Based. Requires working in a clinical setting. The noise level is moderate and there is a potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. The ability to stand and sit for hours at a time, (with some bending and stooping), ability to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Travel – up to 5%
