The Vice President, Claims is a key member of the P&C Insurance Solutions

leadership team, accountable for the strategic leadership and operational effectiveness of our National Claims function. This role will shape the future of Claims by driving transformation, strengthening client experience, and delivering disciplined financial and operational performance.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE IMPACT

  • Set and execute the long-term National Claims strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities, market dynamics, financial objectives, client expectations and emerging industry trends.
  • Define and advance a future-ready Claims operating model, including service model, workforce capabilities, technology enablement, data strategy and transformation roadmap.
  • Translate enterprise and Claims strategy into integrated business plans, governance structures, performance measures and execution priorities that deliver sustainable, client-centered, operational and financial outcomes.
  • Provide executive oversight of National Claims operations, ensuring consistent national practices, file handling disciplines, workflow standards and service expectations that support quality, efficiency and strong client outcomes.
  • Establish and oversee the control environment, performance standards and governance mechanisms required to manage claim quality, loss costs, claims expenses, operational risk, regulatory compliance and financial integrity.
  • Drive strategic decisions and operational actions that improve claims performance, reduce leakage and cycle time, strengthen fraud and investigation outcomes, and enhance execution through data, analytics, technology and disciplined performance management.
  • Provide executive leadership to a large national Claims organization, building a high-performing, inclusive and future-ready culture with strong succession, workforce planning, leadership capability and accountability.
  • Mobilize enterprise and cross-portfolio partnerships across Pricing, Product, Underwriting, Business Intelligence, IT, Risk, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Digital, Retail Sales and other functions to align strategy, resolve interdependencies and deliver integrated business outcomes.

TO JOIN OUR TEAM

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent senior business education preferred.
  • FCIP or equivalent insurance designation preferred, with deep credibility in P&C insurance and Claims.
  • 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience in P&C insurance, including experience at the Vice President level, leading a comparable large-scale operational function with significant financial, client, regulatory and reputational impact.
  • Expert knowledge of P&C Claims operations, service models, claims governance, quality management, operational controls, vendor strategy, fraud, regulatory considerations, and claims-related technology, data and analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large national operation, including multi-location teams, senior leaders and broad employee populations, with strong accountability for performance, capability building, succession and culture.
  • Strong financial, analytical and business acumen, including the ability to manage claims losses, reserves, expenses, operational budgets, strategic investments and performance outcomes.
  • Exceptional influencing, communication and consensus-building skills, with the ability to engage executive leaders, Board or committee stakeholders, regulators, industry partners, vendors and cross-functional enterprise partners.
  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
