Position Overview:
The Medical Office Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, as well as providing support to physicians and medical staff.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phones, greeting, and registering patients
- Provide panel management support to physicians
- Responding to patient enquiries in person and by phone
- Initiating forms and collecting payment for services not covered by insurance
- Escorting patients to exam or treatment rooms and preparing patients for physician
- Cleaning and preparing exam and treatment rooms between patient visits
- Performing diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician including urinalysis
- Taking patient vitals as ordered by the physician
- Scheduling new and existing patients for appointments
- Scanning patient documents into electronic medical records as required
- Performing other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Medical Office Assistant Certification
- Recent MOA experience
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Healthquest is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Problem solving skills
- Must be able to handle confidential information in compliance with the Health Information Act
