Machine Operator, Level 1 – Afternoon Shift (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) *shift premium
Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and looking to grow in a fast-paced production environment? Big Country Pet Co. is seeking Machine Operators to join our team on the afternoon shift, where you’ll play a key role in packaging high-quality pet products.

Your Role: As a Machine Operator, you’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and minor troubleshooting of packaging machinery. Depending on your experience and training, you may be assigned to:
- Level I Operators: JDA, Paxium, cup line, and carton line
You’ll also provide backup coverage across machines and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate packaging equipment efficiently and safely
- Conduct pre-op inspections and follow production schedules
- Monitor machinery and report issues promptly
- Perform weight checks, lot tracking, and replace packaging materials
- Maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation protocols
- Complete all required paperwork and reporting accurately
What You Bring:
- Experience in food handling or production machinery (an asset)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Training Provided In:
- GMPs, HACCP, Food Defense, Pest Control
- Equipment operation and sanitation procedures
- Metal detection and weight verification
