Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing invoices, assisting with vendor payments, and ensuring accurate financial records while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments. This role is well suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, and is committed to accuracy and efficiency.
- Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with company policies
- Perform matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (three-way matching)
- Assist with payment processing activities, including cheque and electronic funds transfer (EFT) coordination
- Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on discrepancies or outstanding items
- Communicate with vendors regarding invoice issues and payment status
- Assist with general ledger coding and ensure accurate entry of financial transactions
- Support account reconciliations as required
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing entries, reports and identifying outstanding liabilities
- Maintain financial data in accounting systems and ensure accuracy of records
- Provide support during internal or external audits by gathering documentation
- Drive efficiency by automating processes through software instead of manual work
- Perform other support duties as assigned
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Diploma or coursework in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in accounts payable or accounting support roles
- Understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
- Familiar and comfortable with cloud based AP application and digital AP process
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage 300, SAP Concur or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel (Sumifs, Index Match, Pivot Tables)
- Excellent organization skills, with a high attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- Results driven; known for working well in fast paced environment
