The Role
Morningstar DBRS is seeking a Data Research Analyst to join our Data Management team supporting Structured Finance security mappings and enterprise data initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of critical ratings and regulatory datasets, while contributing to broader data governance and AI‑ready data standards across the organization.
This position offers exposure to fixed income data and AI / Data governance functions and works closely with global stakeholders across Data, Credit Operations, and Technology teams.
The Responsibilities:

Perform Structured Finance security mappings, ensuring accuracy and completeness of identifiers.

Execute daily data quality controls across production datasets, including pre‑publication validations and reconciliations against external sources.

Contribute to data governance and AI ready initiatives, including population and maintenance of metadata, data dictionary, and mapping out data lineage

Investigate, resolve, and document data issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Support regulatory and reporting processes, including execution of data quality checks aligned to regulatory standards

Reconcile regulatory datasets and reporting outputs to ensure consistency and compliance
The Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Science or Management Studies

1–3 years of experience in data governance, data operations, analytics, or financial services

Strong attention to detail and ability to work with time‑sensitive, high‑quality data
-
Proven ability to analyze, reconcile, and validate datasets from multiple sources
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with databases or SQL is an asset
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
The Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience related to Structured Finance, credit ratings, or capital markets data
-
Experience with data governance, metadata, or data quality frameworks
-
Experience working with AI initiatives and projects
Base Salary Compensation Range
$47,476.00-69,634.66
Incentive Target Percentage
5% Annual
