Role Responsibilities
The Volunteer Manager is responsible for the end-to-end recruitment process, onboarding, training, and supporting volunteers and mentees. This role also provides administrative support for programs, assists with program coordination, and performs additional duties as required. Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the full recruitment process, from job posting and candidate screening through interviews, selection, and onboarding. Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to volunteers to ensure they are equipped to perform their roles effectively. Coordinate volunteer scheduling and maintain volunteer records. Conduct intake interviews and onboard mentees into programs. Maintain accurate and confidential volunteer and mentee documentation. Support mentor-mentee matching and participant engagement. Provide administrative support for programs, including scheduling, reporting, and record keeping. Assist with program planning, events, and community outreach activities. Serve as a point of contact for volunteers, mentees, and stakeholders. Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This is an entry-level position ideal for someone looking to build real-world experience in a collaborative nonprofit environment. Our ideal candidate has:
Experience in volunteer coordination, program administration, mentoring programs, or a related field. Communication skills to convey information clearly, accurately, and appropriately to different audiences. Interviewing skills to obtain relevant, accurate, and complete information through structured and effective questioning. Interpersonal skills to develop productive relationships and interact effectively with diverse individuals and groups. Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Google Workspace. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in the nonprofit sector is considered an asset.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, applicants must: Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act Be legally entitled to work in their province or territory Ineligible if you are currently being paid through another Canada Summer Jobs Note: International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants who meet the above criteria are welcome to apply.
