Who are we looking for? We are growing and looking for a Junior Geotechnical Engineering Graduate to join us in Mississauga or Markham, Ontario. In this role you will play a key role in a wide variety of geotechnical engineering projects in transportation and infrastructure. Services will include in-situ testing supervision of field investigations, design and technical report preparation and field work management of small and large projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist with subsurface investigations by collecting field and laboratory data, reviewing borehole logs, and compiling results using established tools and methods.
- Geotechnical Studies and Interpretations: Contribute to ground characterization by interpreting soil and rock properties from drilling, sampling, and testing programs to support engineering decisions.
- Baseline Reporting: Support the preparation of baseline geotechnical reports by drafting figures, tables, and sections under senior engineer guidance.
- Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to geotechnical design deliverables (foundations, retaining structures, embankments, pavements) by applying standards, calculations, and software tools as directed.
- Knowledge Management: Document and share field practices, lessons learned, and case studies to build team knowledge and consistency across projects.
- Data Management: Maintain organized records of drilling, testing, and design data, and provide support to ensure accuracy and accessibility of project information.
- Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest updates to field and design methods, software tools, or reporting approaches to improve project outcomes.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop technical and professional skills by engaging in training, mentoring, and project-based learning. Stay current on geotechnical methods, standards, and industry practices.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Assist with identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during field investigations, laboratory testing, or design work.
- Project Management: Work within project schedules and budgets by completing assigned tasks, coordinating with colleagues, and meeting deliverable timelines.
What You Will Bring To The Team Education
- A university degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering
Experience
- General Experience: 0-2 years in related field. Strong report writing and verbal communication skills in English
- Knowledge of working with relevant software such as gINT, MS Office and Geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Rocscience, would be an asset but not required
- Ability to work as a team member as well as independently
- Ability to work in extended hours and travel
- A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
