Position Overview

Ganotec is seeking a Project Deputy Engineering Manager This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of complex construction projects by bridging design and field execution, ensuring that mechanical systems are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with construction strategies.

Location

This position is based in U.S.A and requires applicants to be eligible to work in the U.S. or to apply for and obtain a TN visa. U.S. immigration requires proof of Canadian citizenship and successful completion of a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

This role may involve either a fly-in/fly-out arrangement on a potential 10/4 schedule or a temporary relocation for approximately 1 to 2 years, depending on project needs and individual circumstances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical teams focused on mechanical design during pursuit and execution phases.

  • Oversee completion of mechanical design tasks in accordance with project criteria and execution plans.

  • Ensure adherence to Ganotec’s design and constructability standards.

  • Control design-related costs and engineering service budgets.

  • Integrate constructability and quantity tracking throughout the design process.

  • Collaborate with estimators and field teams to align design with construction strategies.

  • Monitor and report progress against design schedules.

  • Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development.

  • Champion design quality management plans for mechanical systems.

  • Develop project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans for final design phases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain licensure in required jurisdictions).

  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design and construction, preferably in design-build or P3 environments.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and delivering infrastructure projects valued at $100M+.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems in industrial and infrastructure settings.

  • Proven leadership in coordinating design with field execution.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

  • Willingness to travel and access active construction sites in varying conditions. #LI-IS1
