Ignite the Fight Golf Tournament (2nd Annual)
Position Overview
The 2nd Annual Ignite the Fight Golf Tournament is a fundraising event supporting Arthritis Society Canada, bringing together participants, sponsors, and community partners for a full day of golf, engagement, and impact.
We are seeking 12 enthusiastic volunteers to support various on-site event operations, helping ensure a smooth, welcoming, and well-coordinated tournament experience.
Time Commitment
This is a one-day, in-person volunteer opportunity:
Event Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026 Time: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM AST Volunteers should be available for the full duration of their assigned shift (approximately 6–8 hours, depending on role).
Application Deadline
The recommended deadline for volunteer applications is August 15, 2026.
Location & Accessibility
Glen Arbour Golf Course Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia This is an outdoor event taking place on a golf course. Volunteers should be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and dress appropriately.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Volunteers may be assigned to one of the following roles:
Registration: Greet guests upon arrival, take attendee names, and support the sale of Mulligans and Pink Balls (event activations). Putting Challenge: Manage the putting challenge station, sell balls to participants, witness successful shots, and assist winners in completing ballots. Event Set-Up: Assist with setting up silent auction items, placing signage throughout the venue and golf course, and supporting general event preparation. Sponsor Greeters: Welcome sponsors, guide them to their designated hole activations, assist with setup of materials, and provide on-course support throughout the day (including delivering snacks and water). Hole-in-One Spotters: Stationed at designated holes to monitor play and confirm any hole-in-one achievements, including potential prize verification.
Specific assignments will be confirmed prior to the event.
Meals & Hospitality
A continental breakfast and dinner will be provided for volunteers. Lunch will not be provided, however food options will be available for purchase on-site. Snacks will also be available throughout the day.
Transportation
Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the venue.
Desired Skills & Attributes
Friendly, outgoing, and approachable Comfortable interacting with guests and participants Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Comfortable handling cash and payment processing (for some roles) Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Requirements
Volunteers may be required to complete standard onboarding requirements, which may include:
Minimum age requirement (18+) Access to computer and internet (for onboarding)
Additional experience in customer service, events, or data entry is considered an asset.
Dress Code
Volunteers are required to wear professional golf-appropriate attire. No jeans are permitted. Slacks and a collared shirt are recommended.
