About the role**.**

The Cold Store Warehouse in Florenceville-Bristol has a permanent full-time Lead Hand role available. This role has two main priorities. First, when shipping is operating, this position will organize the work for loading, unloading, and partial picking crews, perform pre-loading inspections, and any other duties required to maintain a smooth workflow. Second, when only production is running, this role will supervise and break crew, and also support by driving a forklift as required.

Please note, this position is required to work 12-hour rotating shifts, on a 4-on 4-off basis (4 on= 2 days, 2 nights).

What you’ll be doing.

  • Manage the inventory control system within WMS.
  • Be able to utilize WMS to include daily productivity / inventory counts and to research product history and/or product movements within the cold storage.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily basis (shift efficiency report) that will include loading productivity and inventory levels.
  • Ensures the training of employees, setting of performance goals, organization of work, and maintenance of a productive and motivational climate.
  • Oversee performance management system for production employees including Performance plans and coaching and progressive discipline as required.
  • Responsible for the completion of all documentation and HACCP system procedures, including any and all established FSE Prequirements.
  • Organize and assign work to complete the workload.
  • Supervise a shift & complete daily workload in a productive manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for payroll using Dimensions.
  • Break the production put-away driver on shift as required for daily break periods.
  • Operate counterbalance and high-reach lift trucks as required.
  • Responsible for promoting the safe work habits of employees, and ensuring all safety policies are followed
  • Ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Ensure housekeeping is completed continuously throughout every shift.
  • Must ensure all employees are observing the Code of Conduct and other policies and procedures.

What you’ll need to be successful.

  • Must have Grade 12 education or GED (include transcript).
  • Must be able to operate all types of forklifts within CCS, including the Tall Reach lift truck for product put-away and retrieval.
  • Must have basic computer skills, be able to work in SAP and WMS environments (Warehouse management system).
  • Ability to work well with CCS supervision and warehouse employees.
  • Must be highly motivated, observant with good initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of products and product codes would be an asset.
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to and embracing change as it occurs.
  • Team player with excellent attendance.
  • Requires flexibility for operational coverage of shipper and dock supervisor role when required.
  • Ability to work shift work is required including days, nights, weekends.

Compensation Package*: -* Starting at**24.40 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
