Position Details
The University of Lethbridge Faculty of Fine Arts is welcoming applications for a continuing 0.833 FTE Recruitment and Retention Specialist. This position works approximately 28 hours per week.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean to the Faculty of Fine Arts, this position is committed to ensuring that prospective and incoming Fine Arts students are fully informed and supported throughout their application process. This position also ensures that students are engaging meaningfully throughout their program and are directed to supports and resources to enable them to succeed as a Fine Arts student.
The Recruitment and Retention Specialist is dedicated to supporting and coordinating University recruitment and retention activities, on behalf of Fine Arts, such as representing the Faculty of Fine Arts at recruitment events, conducting tours, coordinating Student for a Day activities, coordination of the Living and Learning Community, planning and executing New Student Orientation, Open House, and similar sessions.
This position will also coordinate, create and provide accurate, current, and relevant program information to central recruitment, External Relations, and the SEARS office (including website updates, marketing campaign deployment, and other initiatives). Administration and communication of awards and scholarships, specific to Fine Arts students, is an essential and substantial responsibility of this position.
As as essential member of the Faculty of Fine Arts Advising Office, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist establishes the connections of incoming students to Fine Arts advisors, administration, and faculty.
Position Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with 1-2 years of relevant experience. A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. They must be able to gather, research, edit, and present information effectively for various audiences and age groups.
- Demonstrate initiative, creativity, and have the ability to analyze problems to find practical solutions, working closely with faculty, staff, and current and prospective students.
The Recruitment and Retention Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and conducting high school visits during strategically prioritized times of the year and will be required to travel. Some weekend and evening work will be required as well.
The incumbent will be applying.
Start Date: April 1, 2026
Note: The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and will be required to have a valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$5,291.00 - $5,990.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$5,291.00 - $6,687.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 12)
