The Tenant Services Coordinator is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents through the strong leadership and motivation of Sienna team members.
As a Tenant Services Coordinator your typical day will impact the following ways:

Monitors all resident incidents and reports to the DOC for appropriate direction for team members regarding interventions to prevent reoccurrence as applicable; Implements established policies and procedures with the objective of ensuring that desirable standards are met;

Works with all other departments to foster resident independence with appropriate supports in place;
-
Monitors team member compliance with policy on Monitoring Resident Well Being and ensures follow-up is completed as required.

Communicates changes in care levels to ensure that families are kept informed of potential cost increases related to care services;
-
In conjunction with the DOC, monitors resident incidents/ prepares families for higher levels of care/potential discharge;
-
Facilitates family interviews and problem solving in relations to all aspects of services. Demonstrates personal attributes and communication skills that foster teamwork and customer satisfaction at all times and monitors team members performance in relation to both;
-
Develops and monitors team members schedules & work assignments to maximize the effectiveness of Resources;
-
Interviews prospective residents in conjunction with the DOC to determine suitability for admission;
-
Works collaboratively with marketing team members to support the admission process; Completes all required documentation to meet legislative and organization standards; Maintains all work areas in an organized & welcoming manner

Liaises with hospitals, medical team members, community health care professionals to establish strong referral relationships;
-
Contributes to the development and creation of a safe work culture, leading by example in all aspects of health and safety;
-
Ensures direct reports adhere to the OH&S Act and Regulations, all policies and procedures and that personal protective equipment is worn;
-
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of department;
-
Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.

Participates as requested in budget preparation;
-
Responsible for rent roll/collection/administration/reporting and changes related to care or service fees.

Acts as a role model by demonstrating leadership, professionalism, empathy, trust, and respect in all interpersonal relationships, and recognizes personal impact on team dynamics.

Ensures ED/Site Leader/DOC is kept appraised of the status of issues and concerns that have been raised and dealt with. Answers questions and inquiries from residents, families and staff, and participates in a variety of meetings as needed. Maintains and orders supplies as needed.

Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with Residents and families, employees, volunteers.

Performs other duties as assigned
Must Haves:
-
Minimum 3 years' experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation and/ or retirement living; Comprehensive technical knowledge is required on the aging process, psycho-social geriatric issues, family;

Must be able to set priorities and meet deadlines as workload may fluctuate as admissions, resident needs and discharge occur;
-
Must be committed to multi-disciplinary team work and demonstrate an ability to work
-
through collaboration, joint decision making and integrated strategies;
-
All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
