As project lead, you support the project sponsor and oversee a work team involved in cross-sector projects and initiatives to ensure objectives are met. You participate in all the different project phases, from design to rollout. You identify goals, strategies and approaches, and you coordinate efforts for large-scale, innovative projects. You draw on your drive for results and ability to engage others to effectively manage teams and help the organization achieve its objectives. Initiatives require broad project knowledge, with the ability to draw on expertise from multiple functional areas to support successful delivery. You are responsible for strategic projects that are organizationally and conceptually complex and require comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and line of business. Coordination is critical, so you frequently interact with stakeholders working in many other fields. You lead and serve as specialist to teams and decision-making bodies. You represent Desjardins’ position when making agreements with external providers. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Work on deliverables with contribution managers, ensuring business objectives are met, benefits are delivered, and budgets and timelines are respected.
  • Ensure that the material, human and financial resources needed to meet the target business objectives are available.
  • Manage, monitor and communicate the roadmap and budget, and define and promote governance.
  • Identify and handle project issues and risks.
  • Prepare reports and status updates for the project sponsor and other decision-making bodies, and help manage internal and external suppliers.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Un minimum de six ans d’expérience pertinente in project management experience, delivering cross-functional initiatives in a regulated or financial services environment
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Advanced experience managing external vendors, partners and customers
  • Advanced experience managing multiple parallel initiatives
  • Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
  • Demonstrated experience working on credit cards, payments or lending related initiatives, preferably within a credit union or banking environment
  • Proven ability to manage external vendors, partners and customers
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives
