This position has primary responsibility for the development and delivery of individualized programs/strategies to students who require additional support to ensure they have the necessary tools to achieve academic success.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities (Including but not limited to the following):

• Meeting with students one-on-one to assess and identify areas in need of improvement in relation to academic success

• Develop and deliver individualized learning plans for students with a broad range of disabilities based on each students’ unique needs and learning style (i.e. study strategies, organizational strategies, time management, coping skills and other areas of need)

• Work in collaboration with Tutors, Instructors, and other staff as appropriate, providing training and support when needed for students with specific learning differences

• Support and enhance each student's personal and academic success

• Serve as a resource to the College on matters related to learning strategies for students with learning differences

• Assist with special events and other services offered through the department

• Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned to support the operation of the department

• University degree in Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Adult Education or related qualification

• Minimum two years in a secondary or post-secondary educational setting, working directly with students in the planning and provision of educational supports to students with special needs

• Proven experience providing learning strategies to students within a diverse population

• Proven ability to provide solution-focused interventions
