Job Duties:

  1. To assist the equipment operators at the glass plant.

  2. To inspect and clean vibratory screens on a daily basis.

  3. To check and clean screens, vacuum hood and magnetic separator

  4. To assist with changing screen decks when required.

  5. To fill 50 lb bags of glass in various sizes and stack on pallets.

  6. To shrink wrap skids full of 50 pound bags.

  7. To assist with cleaning the floor inside the fluidized bed dryer.

  8. To keep accurate records of all finished product in supersacs or bags and to mark each supersac or 50 pound bag with the date the supersac or bag was filled and the mesh size of the glass.

  9. To visually check product daily to ensure product is clean.

  10. To maintain the cleanliness of the glass processing area, which includes sweeping floors on a daily basis.

  11. To report any problems with the dust collection system immediately to supervision.

  12. To follow all safety procedures, including safe lockout and test procedures and wearing safety equipment.

  13. To sort materials along the fibre or container line, as required.

  14. To sweep floors, under lines, etc., throughout the facility, as required.

  15. To clean bales, and other miscellaneous general labourer tasks, as required.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform repetitive / physical tasks for extended periods of time and lift items of up to 20lb
  • Must have effective interpersonal skills to be able to communicate, understand and respond to questions, instructions, signs, signals and safety training;
  • Must be able to work in all weather elements;
