Location- This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton, South Campus Edmonton, and Enterprise Square.

The LSS analyst is one of the "faces" of IST, and provides technical support for computers, audio-visual technology, and related classroom and lab software within these spaces.

Information Services & Technology (IST) is the central support group for the university's technological landscape. IST plays a pivotal role in ensuring the evolution and smooth operation of technology for teaching, learning, research and working at the University of Alberta.   • Provides support and recommendations for instructors on technology and its use within learning spaces across campus

  • Assesses the needs of instructors and provides targeted guidance for the use of technology to meet their pedagogical goals

  • Continually assesses hardware/software and makes recommendations for improvements and efficiencies by reviewing procedures, identifying opportunities and researching effective solutions within the scope of their services

  • Supports the use, setup, deployment and training for synchronous learning tools and web conferencing solutions such as Zoom, Google Meet and Yuja

  • Minimum of a diploma in the area of media, design, theatre production, radio/television, and/or IT 3+ years experience in the audiovisual or IT industry

  • Intermediate to advanced technical knowledge of web and video conferencing systems

  • Experience within an educational environment

  • Experience with video and audio editing software

  • Experience with training both groups and individuals

  • Demonstrated analytical and diagnostic skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) - Foundations Course an asset

  • Strong communication (oral and written), problem solving, analytical and time management skills

  • Ability to converse in multiple languages would be an asset

  • Be able to deal with change and ambiguity

  • Excellent customer service skills

This position is subject to all applicable terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the Governors of the University of Alberta and the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
