About the role

At Manulife, we continue to expand its use of Microsoft Power Platform and being integrated with our AI Strategy, the need to for dedicated expertise to lead a strong technical Power Platform team. This role is pivotal in ensuring platform stability, compliance, and operational excellence while supporting business initiatives and scaling adoption across the enterprise.

The Power Platform Manager will lead the Power Platform engineering team, overseeing the Power Platform performance, Agent performance, incident response, governance, and continuous improvement across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.

The Manager will collaborate with build engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment with strategic goals. This role reports directly to the AVP of Global End User Support, Collaboration Solutions

Work arrangement: Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days from home; Remote working option is not available.

Position Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead the Power Platform Run team responsible for handling service requests, incidents, and operational tasks
  • Ensure platform health, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring and observability strategies
  • Oversee documentation and process readiness before transitioning builds to operations

Governance & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain governance frameworks, including managed security, managed operations, and audit readiness
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk management standards and external regulatory requirements

Team & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with build engineers, technical analysts, and architects to align operational goals with platform capabilities
  • Engage with business units to support solution delivery and promote platform adoption
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Platform Expertise

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Power Platform technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio
  • Stay current with Microsoft best practices and integrate new features and capabilities into operational workflows

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Copilot Studio).
  • Experience with Azure services, Microsoft 365, and enterprise-grade security and compliance tools
  • Familiarity with observability tools, ALM pipelines, and platform configuration management

Leadership & Communication

  • Proven experience managing technical teams in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Compliance & Governance

  • Knowledge of audit processes, risk management, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience in implementing security architecture assessments and responding to audit requests

Preferred Qualification:

  • Prior experience in a similar role within a Center of Excellence or enterprise IT organization.
  • Familiarity with RACI models and role clarity frameworks for platform adoption

Working Arrangement

Salary range is expected to be between

$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CAD
