About the role

The Rotary Centre for the Arts is a key cultural facility in Kelowna. Situated on the unceded territories of the Syilx/Okanagan People, it is a non-profit operated by the Kelowna Visual and Performing Arts Centre Society (KVPACS). We are committed to bringing the arts community together and contributing to the cultural vitality and diversity of Kelowna through artistic, educational, and community programming. We are seeking an experienced Digital Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support outreach activities for our performances, camps, art workshops, community partnership activities, and educational programs.

Position:

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator supports the promotion of the Rotary Centre for the Arts and its programs, performances, and events. This role focuses on managing digital platforms, including social media, e-newsletters, and website content. The successful candidate will work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Graphic Designer to deliver consistent and engaging messaging across all channels, helping to increase the RCA’s visibility and strengthen awareness of its programs, community engagement and impact.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have proven experience in digital marketing and communications. They will manage RCA’s social media platforms, create engaging digital content, and support e-newsletters, blogs, and website updates. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent writing and editing abilities, and a proactive approach. The ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines is essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage RCA’s social media platforms to grow followers and increase meaningful engagement
  • Create and schedule content, including posts, newsletters, and blogs
  • Develop visual and video content for digital campaigns
  • Monitor online engagement and respond to inquiries
  • Create and manage Facebook events and paid ads
  • Maintain and update the RCA website
  • Post events to online event listings and relevant Facebook Groups
  • Assist with surveys and analytics to improve audience engagement
  • Support fundraising campaigns and event promotion
  • Distribute marketing materials and capture event photos as needed
  • Provide marketing support for special events and community partnerships
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer to implement marketing strategies
  • Support other colleagues as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years proven experience in social media management and digital content creation
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with media analytics and reporting
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and experience with HTML/CSS is preferred
  • Experience with e-newsletters, blogs, and website updates
  • Proficiency with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic video creation and editing skills
  • Experience running paid social media ads
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Website maintenance experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge and use of AI tools for efficiency is an asset
  • Non-profit or arts marketing experience is an asset

Position: Permanent full-time role with the option for a hybrid work from home schedule.

Salary Range: $20-$22 an hour plus benefits package.

Hours of Work: Office hours are Monday - Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Due to the nature of the position, it may be necessary to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends from time to time.
