The Position
This role is key to building advancement for the Revenue Growth Management (RGM) discipline within the organization, positioning it as a key pillar for financial sustainability and competitiveness of the Animal Health business in Canada.
With a focus on pricing strategies and demand forecasting processes, the individual will partner closely with the Species Business Units, Finance, Legal and Supply Chain teams, to maximize market relevance and organizational health by optimizing price, volume, product mix and customer value within the organization.
This role will be responsible to:
- Lead the design and implementation of the strategic pricing architecture that maximizes value capture, optimizes profitability, enhances competitive positioning, and enables informed decision-making across the organization.
- Act as a strategic partner to the species Business Unit teams, supporting the design of competitive and sustainable commercial offerings that balance revenue growth with margin protection, while contributing to effective market access.
- Orchestrate pricing governance aligned with global company guidelines and promoting integration across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Legal to ensure coherence between strategy, execution and profitability.
- Oversee the end-to-end demand forecasting process in partnership with the local Marketing and Supply Chain teams. Act as a Power User to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies through advanced analytics, master data management, process improvements, user support, and training. Deliver actionable insights and reporting that align price, forecast, product mix and impact to support efficient financial planning and execution of the Commercial team. Promote a culture of analytical excellence and commercial discipline, empowering teams and influencing internal stakeholders for more assertive, value-aligned decisions.
Responsibilities:
REVENUE GROWTH MANAGMENT (RGM)
- Drive RGM Initiatives: Lead efforts to identify opportunities for optimizing price, mix, and volume across portfolios, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.
- Customer Segmentation and Price Promotional Analysis: Analyze customer segmentation and evaluate promotional effectiveness to inform and refine growth strategies.
- Embed RGM Principles: Collaborate with Business Unit teams to integrate RGM principles into planning, execution, and performance tracking processes, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor KPIs and Drive Optimization: Track key performance indicators to assess the impact of RGM levers, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions to the Director of Commercial Excellence and Business Unit Director(s) to ensure targets are achieved.
- Share Best Practices: Identify and disseminate best practices across species teams, ensuring sales, key account management, and account management processes are effective, consistently implemented, and aligned with organizational goals.
PRICING STRATEGY AND COMMERCIAL POLICY GOVERNANCE
- Pricing Strategy Development: Support the defining and refining of pricing frameworks across product lines, go-to-market channels, species business units and regions. Conduct market analysis, competitive benchmarking and market research to inform pricing decisions. Collaborate with Sales, Finance and Marketing to align pricing with the go-to-market strategies, identifying optimization opportunities and developing risk mitigation strategies.
- Promotional Pricing Insights and Optimization: Deliver robust, analytics-supported insights and recommendations on price promotion proposals, including rebates, discounts and promotional activities. Evaluate financial impact, ROI, customer response and strategic fit of proposed promotions. Support scenario modeling and post-activity analysis to optimize future promotional strategies.
- Commercial Policy Governance: Establish clear pricing policies, discount structures and approval workflows aligned with global guidance. Ensure synergy across business units, as well as compliance with internal controls and external regulatory requirements. Ensure execution with accurate, audit-able data.
- Performance Monitoring: Track pricing effectiveness through margin analysis, win/loss rates and customer feedback. Oversee price corridors, floor pricing, and exception approvals to ensure alignment with global guidance. Identify pricing anomalies and recommend corrective actions. KPI monitoring/reporting (e.g., gross-to-net, price-volume impact, alignment to price corridors, ROI on commercial campaigns, rebates, financial accruals, etc,) to Senior Leadership and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Systems and Tools: Deliver robust insights to drive informed decision making on commercial team proposals related to pricing promotions, key account pricing and pricing strategy steering. Continuous improvements in rebate monitoring and reporting, seeking automated solutions for robust, reliable data-driven decision making.
- Support and Training: Serve as a primary point of contact for pricing-related inquiries and escalations, promoting RGM culture in the organization and leading change management. Facilitate cross-functional pricing reviews and decision-making forums. Lead training initiatives to enhance and continuously evolve pricing capabilities across the organization, fostering a culture of pricing excellence and commercial discipline.
END-TO-END DEMAND FORECASTING PROCESS
- KPI-Driven Forecasting Analytics and Insights: Develop and deliver monthly insights on key performance indicators (e.g., forecast completeness, accuracy, bias, and financial reconciliation) to enhance forecasting precision, efficiency, and strategic decision-making for Brand Managers and BUDs.
- Data Validation and Statistical Forecasting: Evaluate and validate statistical forecast baselines, cleanse historical data, and identify SKU forecast-ability to ensure reliable inputs for strategic planning. Collaborate with local marketing and the global forecasting team to transition suitable SKUs to statistical forecasting.
- Master Data Management: Partner with marketing teams to maintain and update master data attributes within forecasting systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness across a minimum 36-month horizon.
- Support Global Forecasting Transformation: Actively contribute to global forecasting transformation initiatives, including transition to SAP, by capturing local user requirements, leading testing efforts, and ensuring seamless implementation locally by leading comprehensive training for all local stakeholders.
- System Support and Training: Serve as the first line of support for forecasting systems and processes. Conduct training needs analysis, develop and implement training plans, and ensure effective on-boarding of new users to enhance forecast performance and system utilization
REPORTING, STRATEGIC INSIGHTS, OPERATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS
- Dashboard and Tool Optimization: Develop, maintain, and enhance insights tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to enable effective decision-making, scenario planning, and forecasting with a focus on revenue growth, pricing strategies, demand forecasting, KPI reporting and business performance. Support ongoing reporting needs for product launches, life cycle management, and strategic reviews throughout the financial planning cycle, including Business Reviews, Outlook/Outlook +1, Long-Term Forecasting, and Country Performance Calls.
- Support Financial Planning Cycle Planning and Reporting: Integrate pricing and forecasting data to deliver actionable insights and improve operational efficiency. Provide comprehensive analysis and streamlined reporting to Senior Leadership to support Business Review, Outlook/+1, Long-Term forecast planning, Annual Discussion and Country Performance calls.
- Operational Improvements: Drive continuous improvement by gathering business requirements, designing, delivering new pricing/forecasting capabilities, and collaborating closely with Global Pricing, Forecast and Business Steering Excellence Team, as well as Global Supply teams to enhance system performance and strategic alignment.
This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible .
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.
Requirements
- University Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) are a plus
- Certifications in data analytics, financial modeling or pricing are advantageous.
- BUSINESS ACUMEN: Deep knowledge of the strategic use of RGM levers and their impact on profitability and competitiveness. Minimum 3 years experience leading the development of commercial policy and pricing strategies throughout the product life cycle. Familiarity with end-to-end forecasting methodology, as well as knowledge of ERP systems for financial planning and forecasting are an asset, but not a requirement.
- ADVANCED ANALYTICS: Minimum 5 years experience demonstrating advanced skills in analyzing large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights that drive business results. Ability to evaluate KPIs, identify trends and assess effectiveness of strategies. Ability to model and evaluate "what-if" scenarios to support strategic decision-making. Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- CRITICAL THINKING: Strong problem solving skills to address complex challenges and align solutions with business objectives. Ability to identify risks and propose corrective actions. Expertise in making data-driven decisions in dynamic and uncertain market conditions.
- LEADERSHIP, COLLABORATIVE TEAM PLAYER: Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to influence and align stakeholders across different levels of the organization and outside of direct control. Expertise in embedding business principles into planning, execution and performance tracking across teams. Experience in supporting global initiatives by capturing local user requirements and leading testing efforts.
- COMMUNICATION: Ability to present complex data and insights in a clear, concise and actionable manner to stakeholders. Expertise in crafting compelling narratives around data to influence strategic decision making. Ability to communicate effectively across global teams. Mastery of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Planner, etc.
