About the role
As aTransaction Monitoring Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization from financial crime by identifying and assessing unusual or potentially suspicious activity across customer accounts and transactions. Reporting to the Financial Economic Crime Manager, you will review system‑generated alerts, conduct detailed investigations, and apply risk‑based analysis to determine the nature of flagged activity. Leveraging data insights, internal systems, and cross‑functional collaboration, you will evaluate patterns, assess customer behavior, and escalate higher‑risk cases as needed. Your work will directly support our anti–money laundering (AML) program and help ensure the integrity of our compliance, onboarding, and ongoing monitoring processes.
Day to day
- Monitor AML and fraud alerts for correspondent and corporate banking clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Review transaction monitoring alerts, identify potential red flags, and escalate issues to senior team members or Compliance (2nd LOD).
- Conduct routine reviews of financial transactions and validate customer source of funds against KYC profiles.
- Perform PEP and sanctions screening, resolve basic alerts, and escalate complex cases.
- Assist in preparing Client CDD files for compliance reviews and regulatory audits.
- Support investigations by gathering data and drafting preliminary findings for RFIs and STRs.
- Participate in periodic client risk assessments and update compliance risk ratings.
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying minor gaps and suggesting enhancements.
- Assist in implementing new policies, procedures, and systems under guidance from senior staff.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support risk mitigation activities.

Essentials:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related discipline – Preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in AML, transaction monitoring, fraud investigations, and KYC/CDD processes within financial services.
- ACAMS, ACFE, or equivalent AML credential (or actively pursuing certification) – Preferred.
- Strong understanding of PCMLTFA, FINTRAC and other Regulatory body guidelines, OSFI regulations, and global AML/ATF compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with correspondent banking, SWIFT payments, and complex corporate structures.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, validate compliance risk ratings, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Strong investigative and analytical capabilities, including interpreting fraud data and identifying red flags.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing reports and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Strong risk awareness and critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate compliance issues.
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a track record of driving process improvements and change initiatives.
- Bilingual in French and English preferred but not required.

This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies.
