Wage: $24.00 - $26.00/hour**,** any hours worked over 40 in a week are paid at 1.5 times your regular hourly rate**,** 3% company matching RRSP

About the Role
As a Project Buyer Assistant at BOS Innovations, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that every project has the right materials, at the right time, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and vendors to coordinate purchasing activities that support the successful execution of automation projects. From developing procurement plans and negotiating with suppliers to tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery, your efforts will directly impact the quality, cost, and schedule performance of our projects. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and values teamwork in achieving project success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop & Manage Procurement Plans: Create and maintain project procurement plans throughout the lifecycle of each project, collaborating with engineering to identify long lead-time items during the design phase. Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) by requesting, reviewing, and entering them into the ERP system, generating purchase orders, and maintaining accuracy and documentation throughout the project.
- Vendor Coordination & Cost Management: Negotiate with vendors on terms, pricing, and lead times while tracking cost savings and negotiation outcomes. Maintain regular communication to track orders, ensure on-time delivery, and resolve discrepancies, as well as update vendor scorecards and capability documents to strengthen supplier relationships.
- Project Support & Communication: Provide timely updates to project teams regarding material status, delivery expectations, and budgets. Participate in project meetings, including kick-offs, design reviews, and whiteboard sessions, to ensure procurement activities align with project objectives.
- Corrective Actions & Continuous Improvement: Support the Corrective Action Report (CAR) process by updating BOMs and ordering parts and assist Applications Engineering during quoting phases to negotiate with suppliers and identify cost savings opportunities.
- Logistics & Documentation: Coordinate shipments, review and resolve invoice discrepancies, and ensure all procurement activities are accurately documented to support project success.

You are a detail-oriented and proactive professional with 1-2 years’ experience and a degree or diploma in business, Supply Chain Management or related field. You excel at balancing multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment and possess strong communication and negotiation skills. You’re confident working with both internal teams and external vendors to achieve cost-effective and timely outcomes. You’re highly organized, comfortable working within ERP systems, and thrive in a role where accuracy and accountability are critical. Above all, you take pride in supporting successful project execution and contributing to the growth of a high-performing team.
