About the role

Greenfield is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its growing team. This position is located at the Varennes Biomethanation Plant.

The person in this role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems, devices, or equipment, as well as various safety mechanisms installed on machinery and equipment.

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is in charge of equipment adjustments and must participate in maintenance programs. With a focus on improving the reliability of installations, the technician should also emphasize upgrades and enhancements to mechanical systems.

Your profile is actively sought if you:

  • Prioritize Health & Safety in all planning and execution decisions;
  • Embrace and promote the organization’s values and policies, including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 programs;
  • Hold a vocational diploma (DEP) in electromechanics, industrial mechanics, or equivalent;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Work well independently and as part of a team;
  • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving;
  • Can read and interpret schematics and technical documents;
  • Have knowledge of Maximo (CMMS system) – considered an asset.

Job Responsibilities – Mechanical Maintenance Technician:

  • Install or replace mechanical equipment as needed;
  • Provide necessary connections for machines and equipment;
  • Test, diagnose, repair, or replace faulty mechanical equipment;
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement of the plant;
  • Quickly inform relevant personnel in case of issues or anomalies;
  • Keep records up to date (required spare parts, completed work, etc.);
  • Have good knowledge of control equipment (control valves, positioners, differential pressure transmitters, electromagnetic meters, temperature transmitters, etc.);
  • Participate in planned production shutdowns for mechanical equipment;
  • Respond promptly to the needs of various departments: production, engineering, laboratory, etc.;
  • Collaborate in the design and technical execution of projects;
  • Perform welding on various equipment;
  • Participate in various projects as needed;
  • Be available for emergency calls during on-call weeks.
