Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Storesperson to lead daily operations within the Shipping and Receiving area of our Materials Management department. This role is essential in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of supplies, equipment, and mail throughout the hospital, while also supporting and guiding receiving staff. The Senior Storesperson will act as a key contact for internal departments and external vendors, ensuring that service delivery is efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping/receiving, in a healthcare or hospital setting required.
  • Leadership or frontline supervisory experience is an asset.
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Electric Pallet Jack Operator License
  • Proficiency with computer-based shipping/receiving systems
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and inventory management systems
  • Familiarity with medical and pharmaceutical supply chain operations

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

Delivery Accuracy

Verify incoming shipments from vendors before distribution to hospital departments, ensuring compliance with purchase orders and delivery standards.
Issue Resolution
Troubleshoot and resolve delivery and shipping concerns in collaboration with internal departments and vendors. Escalate complex issues as needed to the Coordinator.
Procedures & Policy Compliance

Maintain strong working knowledge of departmental protocols, including handling procedures for cytotoxic agents and narcotics. Provide guidance and training to staff.
Safety Oversight

Ensure all mechanical and material handling equipment is in safe, working condition and coordinate necessary servicing or inspections.
Communication & Liaison
Act as a liaison between internal departments, MMC, and vendors to coordinate deliveries, address concerns, and provide timely updates to staff regarding changes impacting materials flow.
Work Coordination

Allocate resources, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with team members to maintain a smooth workflow and meet service expectations.
