Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Executive Chef with culinary excellence, artistry, and passion to help us create the next chapter of dining across Everwild and Basecamp Resorts. This is more than a kitchen leadership role—it’s an opportunity to build a culinary brand that will scale across a growing hospitality group. Starting in Canmore, the Executive Chef will develop menus, systems, and a team culture that can expand into a corporate culinary leadership role.

As Everwild and Basecamp grow, this role will be at the forefront of expressing our culinary vision—rooted in nature, inspired by the land, and refined with artistry.

Shifts: Full-time permanent. Days, evenings & weekends.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

Bonus: based on customer satisfaction scores, labour cost control, cost of good percentages, sales targets and staff retention.

Accommodation: Subsidized temporary housing is available

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Vision & Menu Development

  • Champion wood-forno cooking and family-style dining as cornerstones of the Everwild dining experience.
  • Collaborate with spa and hospitality teams to create integrated food and wellness experiences.
  • Elevate the food and beverage offerings across Basecamp Resorts properties.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all menus.

Leadership, Team Development & Culture

  • Lead culinary operations at Rhythm & Howl in Canmore while establishing systems and culture for broader growth.
  • Recruit, train, and inspire diverse kitchen teams—fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth.
  • Work with leadership to build scalable systems and culinary standards for future Everwild properties.
  • Establish culinary policies, goals, objectives, or procedures in conjunction with leadership.

Operational Management & Strategy

  • Direct financial budget activities for culinary operations and increase efficiency.
  • Manage budgets, inventory, supplier relationships, and operational efficiencies.
  • Represent Everwild and Basecamp as a culinary leader in the Bow Valley and beyond.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive culinary leadership, including Executive Chef or Chef de Cuisine roles.
  • Proven track record of culinary excellence in high-end, boutique, or destination dining.
  • Strong background in menu development with seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients.
  • Ability to scale systems, train teams, and build a lasting culinary culture.
  • Creative, collaborative, and inspired by nature, artistry, and community.
  • Business acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L, and vendor management.
  • Red Seal Certification or equivalent considered an asset.
