The Corporate Services Financial Planning and Investment Governance team is responsible for coordinating and preparing the capital plan, consolidated budgets and forecasts, and actuals reporting for Corporate Services OM&A, capital, and revenue, as well as providing long-term financial modeling and support for products and services and contributing significantly to the general rate application process.
As part of the Corporate Services Financial Planning and Investment Governance team, the Accountant III is responsible for providing analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management; producing monthly reports including key metrics, financial results, and variance analysis; ensuring accurate cost allocation to projects and programs with high-quality tracking; and continuously identifying opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
Key functions include: Prepare and publish timely financial reporting. This will include, Monthly Program variance reporting and dashboards, Executive Oversight reporting, Steering Committee reporting. EUB and Board of Directors reporting. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances to identify and aid in mitigation of financial risks associated with ERP projects. Monitor internal controls; develop and implement processes for managing backfill costs for positions seconded to ERP programs/projects; ensure timely monthly posting of accruals and journal entries; collaborate with the Program Scheduler and Contracts Lead to align contracted labor invoices with work performed; and support contingency management. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial activities, including month-end and year-end close processes; prepare month-end regulatory deferral entries; and ensure strong quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
Our ideal teammate will have: Bachelor’s degree and must hold a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation Three years of accounting and/or financial reporting experience Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) SAP experience would be an asset
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
