Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Trim Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of trimming processes within our manufacturing operations. The Senior Trim Engineer is responsible for providing direction to trim development, product design and various customers with respect to trim design execution, feasibility and quality. The senior trim engineer shall be a mentor to other less experienced trim department staff and provide insight, best practices and training.
Job Duties
Develop trim related processes to effectively and efficiently execute design goals and manage change Review customer trim packages and STO to verify feasibility Provide suggestions and solutions to trim related design issues Oversee accuracy of patterns, data and trim drawings Develop patterns for new or existing products Review newly developed trim products for acceptable appearance Root cause customer or internal trim appearance or processing concerns Develop best practices and lessons learned related to trim design and development Establish work plans, prioritize projects to meet customer and internal timing Provide direction/recommendations to foam design to ensure feasible trim design and development Ensure maintenance of WMG product life cycle and follow WMG CCR process Monitor trim related open issues and provide solutions for closure Interface with OEM or Tiers and support customer meetings as required Work closely with engineering, program management, WMG manufacturing plants, sales and quality to ensure all designs meet customer expectations Attend AAR meetings as required or requested Monitor sew processes and make recommendations for improvement Support and assist sew plants with training, resource allocation, new program launch Assist sales department with trim quoting process Perform related trim operation duties as required Perform all other related duties as required Requirements/ Competencies Minimum of three years College with completion of technical diploma (Engineering degree preferred) Minimum of 10-15yrs experience working in automotive soft trim development (seating/head restraints) Proficient in soft trim sew practices, with sewing experience Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point Experience using Acumark digitizing software and Lectra design software Understands trim materials, specifications and industry standards. (Pour in place experience would be an asset) Experience using Optitex and Lectra design software preferred Problem solving, Planning, and Organization Decision making and judgement Multi-tasking Integrity and dependability Ambition and commitment Attention to detail Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
Work Conditions
Travel required (U.S.A and Mexico) Corporate office position in house Ability to attend and conduct presentations Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals Possesses valid drivers license/passport/or working visa for U.S. travel Must be professional and presentable This position is integral to maintaining high standards of quality while enhancing manufacturing efficiency through innovative engineering solutions.
Pay: $90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
