About the role
Dawson Construction is looking for a Foreperson of Paving who will be responsible for onsite facets of the paving process including; safety, quality, roadworks and cleanup.
In this role you will be a valued member ofDawson Construction****, working in a seasonal, full-time position of Foreperson, Paving reporting to the Superintendent, Paving. Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Prioritize safety of self and others in every aspect of the job.
- Provide management and direction to the paving team.
- A strong knowledge of paving best practices .
- Knowledge of all types of heavy equipment.
- Attend and participate in safety meetings and ensure team abides by safety policies on the work site.
- Assist in coordinating and conducting training sessions.
- Work with and oversee the performance of all sub-contractors, ensuring that work is completed accurately.
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications, and ensure all employees have the information required.
- Recommend ways to improve production, quality, and crew performance.
- Ensure construction meets approved specifications.
- Provide expertise on all pipelaying methods and processes.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the Asphalt, Paving, or related discipline
- Clean Drivers Abstract is required
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Experience with Heavy Job an asset
