**Reporting To:**Site Supervisor

**Start Date:**Immediately

**Hours:**Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm

Compensation:$22.62 per hour

Summary: The Traffic/Bin Spotter is responsible for safely directing vehicle traffic within the facility, ensuring proper disposal and recycling practices while maintaining a clean and organized site. The role involves performing load inspections for contamination, guiding customers and drivers to appropriate drop-off locations, and working safely around moving equipment (experience with equipment operation is an asset). It also includes scale operations, handling cash and transactions, completing basic documentation, and supporting general site maintenance. A strong focus on safety compliance, teamwork, and customer service is essential in this fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities: As a Traffic/Bin Spotter, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Work safely around site equipment (e.g., front-end loaders, backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, and compactors); experience operating such equipment is an asset.
  • Safely direct and spot vehicles to appropriate recycling or transfer areas using proper hand signals.
  • Perform visual inspections of loads for contamination and direct traffic accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with PPE, safety guidelines, ISO procedures, and all health & safety regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify and address hazards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of facility and grounds, including seasonal maintenance (snow removal, sweeping, litter cleanup).
  • Provide customer service by assisting with directions, inquiries, and unloading materials.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, drivers, contractors, and site staff in a team-oriented manner.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Manage scale operations, including weighing vehicles and processing cash, debit, and credit transactions.
  • Complete required documentation, including tickets and related paperwork.
  • Support daily operations and assist other team members as needed.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will have a good understanding of customer service, equipment, scale operations, and site operations.
  • You will be required to stand for extended periods of time and be exposed to the different weather elements.
  • You must be a team player and function safely around heavy equipment.
  • General safe working habits are necessary. Heavy lifting is required.
  • You may be required to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, so your own transportation is an asset.
  • You must be punctual with good attendance.
