Our Property & Casualty (P&C) Pricing team is considered an industry leader in the application of actuarial science. The Senior Manager of Farm and IRCA Pricing will lead the Farm and individually-rated commercial auto (IRCA) book of business by supporting the delivery of profitable growth solutions and partner with broader organization to drive business results using pricing expertise. You will contribute to decisions and strategies to meet corporate financial targets and foundational pricing practices to support the Farm & IRCA business units in achieving financial targets.

How you will create impact:

  • Coaching and developing your team, recruiting, and selecting talent, managing, and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.

  • Participating in the elaboration of the project roadmap which includes defining, measuring, and communicating the benefits of analytics solutions & contributing to project budgeting and resource management for its line of business projects.

  • Overseeing the development, maintenance, and improvements our pricing models & non-pricing models that meet high quality standards and adequately forecast the future, considering all variables that might affect our results in the future results.

  • Ensuring usage of appropriate actuarial tools and techniques, including but not limited to rating plan development, operational research, rate level etc. to ensure delivery of profitable growth solutions to drive business results.

  • Participating in the elaboration of best practices with regards to pricing models and ensuring application of model governance principles within their team.

  • Understanding any adverse downstream impacts of proposed changes and proposing implementation strategies to minimize and mitigate them. Seeking efficiencies in implementation processes, considering various systems and stakeholders, with the goal of reducing the time to market for new initiatives.

To join our team:

  • You have 5 or more years of experience in the Actuarial field.

  • You have 3 or more years of progressive leadership experience.

  • You have a university degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics or other relevant field.

  • You have experience working in the insurance industry sector.

  • You have expert knowledge in Actuarial concepts: Pricing segmentation techniques, loss ratios, expense allocation, earned premiums, etc. and expert knowledge of Insurance concepts and practices, of P&C products and underwriting & of the insurance industry landscape and competitive environment.

  • You have good understanding of business operations, strategies, and processes.

  • You have comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards, as well as of the changing business environment and understanding of the regulatory environment.

  • You have in-depth understanding of the business dynamics of your own department/district.

  • Holding an Actuarial designation (ACAS/ACIA, FCAS/FCIA) is an asset.

  • Experience with Auto regulation is an asset.

  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
