Job Title: Project Manager – Data Background
Location: Toronto, ON
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Client: Top 5 Banking Client
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager / Delivery Lead with a strong background in data platforms, analytics, and IT environments. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives for one of the top 5 banks. You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with Agile methodologies and data governance best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex, high-visibility projects within data, analytics, or IT environments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, technical teams, and business units to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Drive execution using Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
- Ensure data governance, compliance, and best practices are integrated into all phases of the project.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Report project status, milestones, and updates to senior leadership and clients.
- Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams and ensure successful project outcomes.
Must-Have Skills:
- 10+ years of proven project management experience in data, analytics, or IT environments.
- 5–8 years of experience working with data platforms, analytics tools, and data governance frameworks.
- 8–10 years managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex programs.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Certifications: PMP, Agile, or Scrum certifications are a plus.
- Tool experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Project , or similar project management tools.
- Experience working in financial services or banking environments is a strong asset.
