Company Description Playfight is a boutique visual effects studio based in Toronto, Canada, offering streamlined VFX solutions for productions of various scopes and budgets.

We're looking for a VFX Supervisor to join our small, hands on team on a short-term contract covering parental leave.

This is both an active artist and supervision role. We're looking for someone who can lead a show, support artists, engage with clients, talk through challenges and also get their hands dirty with shots.

What you'll be doing Supervising VFX work across film and television projects Reviewing shots and giving clear, useful notes Supporting artists both creatively and technically Helping plan shot approaches, workflows, and schedules Working directly with producers, coordinators, and clients Jumping onto shots when needed Helping keep projects practical, focused, and moving forward Contribute to a friendly and open work culture

What we're looking for A senior artists looking for active supervision experience or experienced VFX supes looking for their next contract Experience in film and/or television A great eye for detail, realism, and storytelling Strong compositing skills, ideally in After Effects (but we know Nuke is a necessity and will support accordingly) Experience leading artists or supervising shots Clear communication and a calm, collaborative approach Someone who understands the realities of schedule, budget, and small-studio production
