Regular Part Time
Salary Range: $33.94 - $39.07 /hour
The St. Josephs Health Care London Dental Clinic, located at the St. Josephs Family Medical and Dental Centre, offers general practice, periodontal, dental hygiene and oral surgery services for patients in London and the surrounding areas as well as providing geriatric dental care at the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care. The Dental Clinic also supports a dental resident education program in partnership with the Western University Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Essential Qualifications
- Secondary (High) School Diploma
- Current certification with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association Level II
- H.A.R.P. Registration
- Minimum 2 years recent chairside or recent dental experience
- Oral surgery and periodontal experience
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Competence, efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of Certified Dental Assistant duties, including sterilization, instrument handling, impressions, polishing, rubber dam placement, patient charting, patient education
- Competence, efficiency and accuracy in all aspects of reception and office management duties
- Demonstrated ability in the use of Universal Precautions
- Strong organization skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills both with other members of the health care team and patients
- Self-directed
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Computer experience
- Experience using CADI and DentalWare software
Teaching and Research
- St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties
Immunization Requirements
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
