Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
We are seeking Part-Time Academics (two positions) to teach the following two online-asynchronous courses in Summer 2026.
COMM/MGMT 1101 Introductory Accounting I: May 11 to June 26, 2026
COMM/MGMT 1102 Introductory Accounting II: July 6 to August 21, 2026
In your application, please clearly indicate which course you would like to teach, or whether you were also interested to teach both.
The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for the organization of the course, preparation and delivery of appropriate teaching and evaluation materials, student assessment, and assurance of learning. The Part-Time Academic shall also hold two additional hours of virtual office hours per week for direct consultation by students.
While each of these classes is to be held online asynchronous, their final exams will be on campus in person on the last day of class (for 1101) or in early September (for 1102), and the successful applicant needs to be committed to administer their respective exam in person as well.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
These are positions with a strong emphasis on high-quality teaching, excellent communication and dedication to student success. A Canadian CPA designation and/or a Master’s degree in Management, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field is essential. Candidates must also have demonstrated good knowledge of the specific subject matter, and completion of a PhD, a PhD in progress and prior teaching or related work experience in practice are considered to be strong assets. Preference will further be given to candidates with experience or interests in creating innovative pedagogical materials that can also incorporate principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA).
Salary Range/Pay Rate
$8260 (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement)
