About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our fast-paced, high-energy team. This role is all about making sure our day-to-day accounting runs smoothly and our monthly reports are on point — even when the pace picks up during the busy season.

Reporting to the Controller, you will play a key role in maintaining the general ledger, overseeing reconciliations, and helping to prepare monthly financial statements. You will also supervise our Junior Accountant and collaborate with teams across the resort to make sure financial processes are clear, consistent, and well-executed.

If you are detail-oriented, love a good spreadsheet, and enjoy working in a dynamic business - this could be the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate month-end reporting
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by the Junior Accountant
  • Work with our Payroll Manager and Accounts Payable Clerk to monitor payments and review ledger impact
  • Complete bank and credit card reconciliations, and oversee resort cash handling
  • Maintain fixed asset and inventory schedules
  • Process third-party operator payments and employee expense claims
  • Coordinate with subsidiary accountants to align processes and record intercompany transactions
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements
  • Prepare and file tax remittances and other government filings
  • Keep accounting procedures and internal controls documented and up to date
  • Support the year-end audit process

Note: This role is based at our Kelowna office, however working on-mountain will be required occasionally.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in accounting; CPA designation (or working towards it) strongly preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting operations

  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and formulas are your friends)

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management

  • Clear and professional communication skills

  • Experience working with sensitive financial data and maintaining confidentiality

  • Familiarity with NetSuite is an asset

  • An appreciation for seasonal business cycles — bonus if you love the outdoors and understand resort operations

What We Offer:

  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits

  • RPP program with employer matching contributions (up to 5%)

  • Free immediate family winter season passes

  • Free and discounted lift tickets for friends and family

  • Free ski and snowboard lessons

  • Free and discounted Passes/Lift tickets atotherapprovedMountain Resorts

  • Discount at our restaurants, retail stores, and rentals

  • Salary: $75,000-$90,000, dependent on experience

This is more than just a back-office role — it is a chance to be part of a team that keeps things running efficiently so our guests can have unforgettable experiences. If you are ready to bring your accounting skills to a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.
