About the role
Designated Residential Appraiser (CRA / AACI) — Saskatoon, SK Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (100% remote — must reside in Saskatchewan) Type: Full-time, permanent, salaried Reports to: Pod team / regional operations
About the Opportunity: My client is a fast-growing, technology-driven appraisal firm that is rethinking the traditional appraisal model. Rather than the conventional commission-only, work-alone structure, they place designated appraisers on salary and organize work into collaborative "pods" — small teams that work together to produce appraisal reports. The result is a more stable income, a genuine support system, and a modern, tech-enabled workflow.
This is a rare chance to bring your designation and expertise to an organization that is actively scaling across Canada, is generating significant positive attention in the industry for its innovative approach, and is building teams for the long term. If you're a designated appraiser who values collaboration, stability, and smart use of technology over the feast-or-famine grind of solo commission work, this role is built for you.
What Makes This Different: Salaried stability — no more deep income valleys between November and February. A predictable base plus real bonus upside. Pod-based collaboration — work alongside a team (typically 1–3 designated appraisers per location) rather than in isolation, with a national network of appraisal experts a message away. Technology-forward — a proprietary inspection app and modern digital tools streamline fieldwork and reporting. Connected culture — real-time team communication, weekly location meetings, and monthly company-wide town halls keep everyone aligned and supported. Built for longevity — this is a firm investing in people it wants to grow with for years, not a revolving door.
What You'll Do: Produce high-quality residential appraisal reports as part of a collaborative pod Apply your designated expertise to sign off on reports within your area of geographic competency Leverage the firm's technology platform and inspection tools in the field and in reporting Collaborate with fellow appraisers and support staff through the firm's team channels Contribute to a growing, scaling operation with ongoing volume
What You Bring (Must-Haves): Designation (required): CRA or AACI in good standing (in Quebec, DAR / OEAQ designations considered) Geographic competency in the Saskatoon / Saskatchewan market — you must know the market well and reside in the same province (you do not need to be physically in Saskatoon; on-the-ground inspection support is provided) Strong technology skills — genuine comfort with inspection apps, digital reporting, and modern software tools A collaborative, self-starting mindset — someone who thrives in a structured, team-based model and is open to a different, proven way of producing appraisals A long-term orientation — you're looking to build and stay, not pass through
Who Thrives Here: This model suits appraisers who want to focus on the craft of appraising without carrying the full weight of running a solo shop — the finances, the admin, the business development. If you've run your own operation and are ready for a steadier pace, or you simply want to be part of something collaborative and growing, you'll fit right in.
Compensation & Benefits: Competitive base salary with a tiered performance bonus program, plus professional insurance and dues coverage and a full benefits package (following the initial probationary period). Full details shared with qualified candidates during the screening process.
