Position Information In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, Furniture Fixtures and Equipment (FFE), the Project Manager, New Campus Development (NCD), FFE will provide leadership and coordination related to the FFE initiatives for the New Campus Development Project. The planning and construction of the new campus is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Ottawa's history and will reshape health care in Ottawa. This role involves the development, maintenance and execution of FFE plans for the New Campus and all affiliate projects. It requires application of FFE expertise through various planning domains including equipment planning, design development, building infrastructure, inventory management, procurement, transition planning and execution through all phases of the project.
The Project Manager, FFE will work collaboratively with all programs and services at TOH, project consultant partners, NCD planners, FFE leads and vendors to ensure appropriate and complete FFE planning requirements are addressed for the new campus. The Project Manager will lead TOH Service Line Leadership and other NCD PMs through the FFE planning process to ensure FFE and procurement strategies result in successful NCD development, and will meet all future needs.
The Project Manager will lead and collaborate with stakeholders, external consultants, and vendors as required.
Rotation/Shifts Days, 8 hour shifts.
What You Will Do
- Have a full understanding of TOH¿s complex new campus project. Contribute to the development, and ensure optimal execution of, NCD FFE and procurement plans ;
- Collaborate with TOH's Planning leaders to create successful equipment plans for this large-scale complex project;
- Be the primary contact for multiple programs within the project and responsible for leading and maintaining the FFE plans within and across these;
- Report regularly to team members on project progress, seek support from consultants as required, and escalate priority issues to prevent planning delays;
- Identify and propose FFE solutions and best practices for functional equipment challenges across work environments;
- Ensure all equipment considerations including data, electrical, integration, accessibility, CSA standards, IPAC or other requirements are captured and integrated into the project FFE plan;
- Ensure accurate, complete and up to date information is reflected in the FFE project database through all project phases;
- Perform Quality Assurance checks on FFE project data to ensure highest quality, accurate data throughout the project;
- Initiate contact with stakeholder groups to review equipment needs and consider requirements for future state;
- Collaborate with Hospital staff and external consultants to plan for FFE transition planning and operational readiness, including product selection / functionality assessment, inventory planning, procurement, installation, integration and any other associated FFE management requirements;
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and groups to ensure alignment of FFE plans with user needs, current best practices, and updated equipment options;
- Conduct outreach to regional health networks and working groups, including Union leadership, peer hospitals and Ontario Hospital Association, as required;
- Ensure all members of the immediate NCD planning team are kept up to date on FFE progress and milestones;
- Act as representative of FFE and / or the NCD project as required on corporate committees, interdepartmental meetings or engagements with other organizations as required.
What You Will Bring
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Healthcare, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent;
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience working within a health related field;
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with specialized health care equipment;
- Experience working with interprofessional teams including physicians and senior leadership;
- Expertise and strong detailed knowledge of TOH Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment either through past operational experience or support service experience;
- Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of information, perform accurate data entry and complete data analytics;
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to achieve outcomes and manage multiple project elements simultaneously;
- Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with proven ability to achieve outcomes;
- Strategic conceptual thinker, with the ability to integrate systems thinking into operations;
- Demonstrated ability to apply guidelines and standards in the development of programs, workflows and / or protocols;
- Proficient in computers and Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat.
You will stand out with:
- Master's Degree in Healthcare, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent;
- Minimum 2 years of Project leadership experience, particularly in a health care field;
- Understanding of Ministry of Health Capital Planning processes, design development and operational readiness principles;
- Knowledge of integrating hospital systems with building infrastructure and/or maintenance of equipment inventory;
- Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives and / or coordination of hospital projects;
- Certification in Project Management, Quality Improvement, Analytics or equivalent.
