What This Role Is All About As a Production Technician, you play a key role on our plant floor by helping manufacture high-quality windows and doors on a special production line. You will work closely with team members to ensure products meet our standards for quality, efficiency, and safety. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in a team-oriented environment.

Job duties & Responsibilities:

  • 1+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in Windows &/or Doors industry is an asset.
  • Communicate effectively in English both verbal and written.
  • Proficient knowledge of using saws, cutting tools, and other hand tools.
  • Be able to use hand tools such as an impact drill and rivet gun etc.
  • Skilled with various methods of measurement and verification.
  • Comfortable with units of measure such as mm and inches (metric system).
  • Use hand tools to fasten window components in the required sequence specified by the Line Lead.
  • Identify materials, welds, that do not meet quality requirements, and reporting the defective material to their Line Lead.
  • Ensure the welds on the corners have been cleaned per quality requirements.
  • Complete production related documents completely and accurately in a timely manner.
  • Keep work area free from clutter, recycling waste, and removing all dust on a daily basis.
  • Load, unload and move products or materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment.
  • Track inventory levels and inform supervisor in advance when material is low.
  • Comfortable with computer applications used in the manufacturing process.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures and a varied workforce.

Assembly

  • Work with team members to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in the production process.
  • Process work orders as per the sequence number.
  • Finish production on time with quality and safety.
  • Keep work area free from clutter, recycling waste and remove all dust daily.
  • Maintain department, equipment, and materials in a clean and efficient manner.
  • Get precut parts from machining. (hardware, glass, parts).
  • Put all parts together to get products. Precut parts.
  • Pick parts and assemble one by one.
  • Report any shortages as you see them to the cell leader to avoid unnecessary delays in product assembly.

Other Requirements

  • Clear criminal background check.

Working Conditions

  • Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 0 llbs to 100 llbs.
  • Work in a production facility.
  • Repetitive movements and work.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Involves sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping on a regular basis.
  • Walking near to heavy tool and moving machinery.
  • Exposure to all types of weather conditions, and dirt, dust and noise.
  • Flexibility in scheduling depending on production demands – able to work day &/or evening shift.
  • Opportunity for overtime on short notice due to operational needs.
