About The Event We are hiring multiple Laboratory Assistants for our state-of-the-art laboratories in North Vancouver. Apply for an invitation to join our team and play a key role in supporting our high-volume summer operations.

Initial Screening Call

Video Interview Submission

Candidates will be asked to submit a short video responding to a set of pre-recorded questions, allowing us to better understand your communication style and fit for the position.

Formal Interview - Onsite

Selected candidates will be invited to a virtual or in-person interview with the hiring team to further assess technical skills, experience, and alignment with ALS values.

Offer of Employment

Successful candidates will receive an official offer to join ALS and begin their ALS experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sample preparation – filtration, screening, extraction and digestion;
- Perform instrument/equipment calibration, maintenance and repair as required;
- Prepare all required reagents, standards, reference materials, etc;
- Carry out all required data processing (i.e. calculations, data review, data entry, archival, etc.);
- General laboratory clean-up and maintenance, monitor controlled equipment;
- Adhere to established methods and protocols to ensure analytical quality.
- Observe safety regulations and comply with all relevant health and safety policies.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
About you :
- Strong analytical and mechanical skills;
- Excellent hand eye coordination;
- Detail oriented individual with a strong commitment to quality;
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Ability to effectively handle a high volume of work and time critical issues;
- Intermediate English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent required;
- Diploma or Degree in Science preferred;
- Minimum of 3 months laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or related field required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs;
- Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 7.5 hours per day;
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks.

Our benefits includes:
- Hourly Range - An estimated hourly pay ranging from $19.78 - $22.23 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
- Additional shift premiums of $2 per hour for evening shifts and $4 per hour for night shifts, if applicable.
- Structured wage increases.
