Summary of Responsibilities

As the Team Lead, you will supervise the activities and training of the Product Marketing Team, encompassing the motorsports, marine and events marketing associates. Working closely with the Manager, Brand Marketing, lead the team in marketing functions specific to Yamaha’s various products and its presence at consumer events. Collaborate with the Corporate Marketing and Brand Development teams and Manager, Brand Marketing to ensure the department is aligned and operating effectively and efficiently to achieve corporate objectives. Lead marketing functions and projects relating to Yamaha Financial Services. Oversee activities associated with Yamaha Motor Adventures. Demonstrate and embody Yamaha’s Accelerate Together values in all daily activities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train the Product Marketing team to ensure performance supports Yamaha’s marketing strategy and departmental objectives related to the Mid Term Plan (MTP). Assist team in projects and tasks, including budgeting, ensuring adherence to timelines and successful outcomes. Ensure their efforts Yamaha’s Accelerate Together values when interacting with dealers, consumers, media and partners.
  • Act as Yamaha’s media agency liaison. Provide insights on corporate priorities and/or brand strategy. Communicate monthly submission requirements to the marketing team and ensure timely submission.
  • Develop and produce YFS corporate and dealer showroom promotional materials for print, TV, radio and/or digital platforms, including any opportunities for cross promotion to expand Yamaha’s presence in the market.
  • Lead and direct Yamaha Motor Adventures initiatives, including directing content, promotion and marketing efforts. Oversee Yamaha-owned Muskoka operations and build program to include additional partners to generate new customer growth. Provide support and administration to site operators as required.
  • Assist Product Marketing team with projects and assignments as required to provide support and coverage during peak periods, travel and vacation. Provide administrative support to Manager, Brand Marketing, including content review and approval.

Experience Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
  • Program of Study: Marketing
  • Years of Experience: 3 - 5 years
  • Type of Experience: Product marketing experience in a corporate environment

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies that align with organizational objectives, drive growth and connect with customers.
  • An understanding of the industry and our customers.
  • Proven skills/experience leading a team executing complex projects on tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication skills and outgoing personality
  • Proficiency creating and curating content that supports brand messaging.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset Excellent in MS Office and basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

Travel and Overtime Requirements

  • Occasional travel in support of conferences, shows and new product launches.
  • Occasional overtime required to support events and product launches
