HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Richmond School District operates 37 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, alternate programs, continuing education and a number of additional facilities. The district enrolls approximately 22,000 students (K-12) and employs over 3000 dedicated staff.
This is a TEMPORARY position from November 2025 to approximately November 2026
Reporting to the Executive Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of confidential and sensitive tasks involving considerable discretion and high degree of responsibility. This excluded position will act as a key role in supporting the day-to-day administration and Human Resources functions of the department.
Responsibilities:
- Supports full cycle recruitment activities;
- Processes forms, reports, minutes, appointments, contracts, and general correspondence to and from staff;
- Assists with handling employee leave requests;
- Handles confidential employee information and information requests;
- Maintains, updates and modifies HR databases as required;
- Prepare and submit invoices, cheque requisitions and employee reimbursements;
- Assists with coordinating professional development events;
- Facilitates and supports various projects and initiatives as developed by the Human Resources department;
- Provides a variety of administrative supports for the department;
- Troubleshoots between Payroll, Human Resources, school sites and/or necessary departments to navigate and resolve discrepancies;
- Performs other administrative duties that are of confidential nature.
Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary degree with human resources coursework, or completion of Human Resources Diploma/Certificate;

Minimum of 1 year of administration or Human Resources related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Strong interpersonal skills with the adept ability to connect with varying audiences;

Ability to multitask and work well in a fast-paced environment;

Proficiency with word processing spreadsheet and database application software applicable to the position;

Strong interpersonal, customer services, conflict resolution and organizational skills;
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
