About the role
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible to gather and assemble all the necessary information from all available sources to prepare for the smooth execution of scheduled work activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Planning and organization in advance of execution, of activities related to the maintenance, repair and improvement of physical assets.

Development of the necessary routine scheduled maintenance activities to;
- Meet applicable regulatory and safety requirements
- Maintain equipment availability, uptime and reliability to meet production capacity requirements.

Application of continuous improvement practices to ensure feedback and improvements are incorporated into maintenance work plans to improve quality and accuracy of information provided so future work can be carried out in an effective manner.

Develops and maintains job plans in a manner that allow for effective use of resources.

Ongoing maintenance of asset information such as: master data reports, equipment specifications, bills of materials, work history, etc., to meet the requirements o the operating unit, facility and organization.
- Ensures accurate information is available on which to base future plans.

Works with scheduler to group planned backlog jobs that can be scheduled at the same time as current work.

Work with E&I team to develop a comprehensive 1 – week schedule of maintenance activities for all areas of the facility. The schedule is based on the forecast of available hours for the craft groups and the availability of the production equipment or assets.

The scheduled maintenance activities are organized in a specific sequence to minimize the impact on production and to utilize available resources most effectively.

The schedule is developed with the input and agreements of operations and maintenance.

Work with crew supervisors to develop schedules for short notice outage work.

Work with the crew supervisors to coordinate work through planning that is approved to disrupt the current week’s schedule of work.

Regularly reports the current backlog work of work orders.
- Has regular communication with operations and maintenance supervisors to ensure they are aware of the level of backlog and risks associated with the backlog.

Works the group to regularly review of the work backlog.

Addressed backlog at all points in the proves with planning, maintenance and operations to ensure the level is appropriate and critical work is proceeding through the process.

Experience in industrial setting, specifically in a Pulp and Paper environment is considered an asset
-
Minimum of a 2 year post secondary education in Electrical & Instrumentation or a related field
-
Maintenance experience would be considered an asset
-
Language required: English
