About the role
This shift is 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the movement of finished goods within the Order Fulfillment warehouse and freezers. The role is to support order fulfillment in retrieving, moving, and removing skids of product daily. In addition to driving a Forklift, it may be required to operate other material handling equipment including a power walkie. The primary goal is to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring that the employee adheres to all health & safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Order Fulfillment Supervisor, move goods throughout the warehouse to designated areas for preparation to pack, load, or unload trailers.
- Retrieve and return skids of finished goods located from racking (up to 25-30 ft high)
- Organize finished goods (frozen and dried) on a scheduled rotation or on an “as-needed” basis; this includes down stocking and restocking according to ‘First in, First out’ (FIFO) protocol
- Assist Order Fulfillment team with order preparation including third party logistics, wrapping, and weighing skids
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Report racking damage to the Order Fulfillment Team Leader
- Report overages and shortages for 3PL shipments to the Logistics Coordinator
- Communicate with Order fulfillment Supervisor Team Hands, and other team members regarding product movement for orders and deliveries on a daily basis.
- Perform daily circle checks ensuring the Forklift meets all Company safety requirements.
- Report all forklift equipment concerns to the maintenance department
- Keep forklift surfaces clean.
- Work in a safe manner at all times, being aware and respectful of pedestrian traffic.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by following the company’s Health and Safety policies and programs; report any workplace health & safety concerns to the Order Fulfillment Supervisor.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Order Fulfillment Supervisor
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 – 3 years’ forklift and power walkie experience.
- General warehouse /order picking & packing experience.
- Valid Forklift license. (Valid In-house license is an asset)
- Ability to work in a controlled temperature environment
- Ability to lift between 30 - 50 lbs.
- Reach truck license is an asset.

Responsibility for Food Safety and Quality
- Responsible for ensuring product is not damage during handling and transportation
- Responsible to maintain stock rotation ‘first in, first out’ (FIFO)
- Responsible for maintaining allergen control program to avoid cross contamination
- Report any issue to the Order Fulfillment Supervisor
- Responsible for communicating any food safety problems to Quality Assurance Manager who will initiate appropriate corrective action
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP protocols
