The Opportunity

We are seeking a Commissioning Lead who has knowledge and experience in the development and implementation of Commissioning processes for facility and pipeline projects. This role will require the successful candidate to collaboratively work in a complex and constantly changing environment on a variety of projects across multiple disciplines.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as Company/Client representative based for managing the Dry/Wet commissioning teams (either remotely or on-site)
  • Manage multiple concurrent programs and projects for commissioning activities, particularly in the case of small scale projects
  • Support and facilitate a highly effective, collaborative environment with seamless, open communication across all stakeholder groups
  • Responsible to execute all phases of the management commissioning process
  • Attend project and construction meetings and assign completion dates to all open items to ensure no impact to commissioning testing and progress
  • Responsible for the implementation of project policies, procedures, and instructions at all sites
  • Ensures the commissioning team leads have information as to current revisions of drawings, specifications, design documents, as required to perform dry commissioning
  • Ensures drawings and specifications are approved and Inspection and Test Plans are followed
  • Accountable for all commissioning testing under his/her area of responsibility to ensure that data sheets are being completed and filed correctly on a daily basis
  • Ensures the commissioning team adheres to Company established commission guidelines, protocol, and documentation package requirements
  • Interface and communicate with Project Team and Construction Management expectations for mechanical completion regarding documentation requirements, punch list items, and timely completion of construction works
  • Execution of the commissioning turnover processes and interface with the integration team within the business unit
  • Conduct/participate in a range of on-site meetings
  • Ensure all of the commissioning testing activities are documented and understood by all team members
  • Manage the budget for areas under his/her control and submit information as required to the Project Manager
  • Manage the overall schedule for development and implementation of commissioning within the assigned project
  • Review schedule to ensure that sufficient resources are allotted to each team to complete their activities in accordance with the current schedule
  • Assign tasks to commissioning resources in a clear and organized fashion (with well-defined scope and expectations, eliminating duplication of effort and activities in required sequence)
  • Ensure that the commissioning teams under his/her responsibility are deployed correctly to minimize travel, excessive overtime, and to meet the project’s commissioning schedule
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the Work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation
  • Manage Integration activities for large and small scale projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of post secondary education
  • Minimum of five (5) years in Construction/Commissioning

This position requires candidates to:

  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
  • Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required (estimated up 75% of work schedule)
