About the role
The Asset Registry Analyst provides comprehensive analytical expertise to support data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives within the Asset Information Management (AIM) division. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and governance of engineering data and asset records across organizational repositories. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies, support backlog reduction, and contribute to the optimization of asset information workflows for a leading energy infrastructure firm.
Core Responsibilities Execute Data Governance: Apply established guidelines and procedures to support data improvement and quality assurance activities within AIM repositories. Manage Service Requests: Review, evaluate, and close service requests (SRs), which includes validating project turnover documentation—such as engineering drawings, asset lists, and tagging structures—for accuracy and completeness. Maintain Asset Records: Update and manage asset records, location hierarchies, and technical attributes within IBM Maximo, ensuring strict alignment with standardized organizational processes. Remediate Data Gaps: Identify technical data gaps and liaise with Engineering Records, Drawings, Operations, and Project teams to resolve discrepancies systematically. Drive Backlog Reduction: Support bulk data cleanup initiatives, prioritize pending service requests, and optimize SR workflows to enhance operational efficiency. Support Process Optimization: Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives utilizing Power Apps, advanced Excel functionalities, or scripting utilities, and assist with field validation activities as required. Facilitate Technical Communication: Collect, organize, and relay precise data, metrics, and observations to project leads and engineering stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Required Qualifications Education: A university degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. Industry Exposure: Foundational exposure to oil and gas operations, midstream infrastructure, or related industrial technologies. Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical capabilities with a rigorous attention to detail and the proven ability to follow complex, defined procedures and decision frameworks. Technical Interpretation: Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, engineering schematics, and project documentation to extract critical asset data. Systems & Tools: Competency in Microsoft Excel and enterprise document management systems, complemented by strong organizational, prioritization, and stakeholder-service skills. Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage assigned workflows with minimal supervision, and adapt to structured feedback.
Preferred Qualifications Asset Management Systems: Direct experience operating enterprise asset management platforms, specifically IBM Maximo or equivalent systems. Engineering Literacy: Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams, and electrical schematics.
