The Opportunity: Shermco is seeking a proactive Electrical Testing Estimator to join our team. You’ll turn project specifications into accurate, competitive quotes for electrical testing projects, including breakers, transformers, and switchgear. This is a hands-on role that requires technical insight, organizational skill, and a drive to streamline processes. You’ll work closely with sales and operations to deliver high-quality proposals that win business.
Responsibilities
- Analyze RFQs and create accurate, competitive quotes for electrical testing projects.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and vendors to gather technical details and costs.
- Review plans, proposals, and historical data to maximize project margins.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including labor, materials, and logistics.
- Assist with change orders and proposal updates as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends, Shermco services, and best practices.
- Manage the quote queue to ensure timely submissions.
- Participate in job walks and training to expand technical knowledge.
Qualifications
- 2+ years estimating electrical testing or related electrical experience (journeyman or engineering technologist experience considered).
- Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and technical plans.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe, Bluebeam; Salesforce experience a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Self-directed, motivated, and detail oriented.
- Professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
