Role Overview

The Software Development Lead heads up the technical architecture, product development, and deployment. . You'll be a hands-on builder and systems thinker, equally comfortable leading architectural design and writing production code, shaping the product from the current MVP through scale and making the key calls on infrastructure, technology stack, architecture, and how AI shows up in both the product and the way the team builds.

The Software Development Lead reports to the Chief Growth Officer, who leads the overarching ecosystem, and works closely with the entire C-suite and the execution teams under Product and Biz Ops—operating as part of an ecosystem of experts rather than in a silo, partnering across the team to turn customer obsession into product.

Key Responsibilities

Own delivery of the full-stack solution across mobile, web, and server. Lead design and development of Leeg’s products, from architecture through deployment. Partner closely with the C-suite and the execution teams under Product and Biz Ops to build an exceptional experience for our customers. Establish engineering best practices across both development and QA. Own the quality, maintainability, and scalability of everything the team ships. Bring the best of AI to the customer experience. Collaborate closely with Product and Design to keep development user-centered. Bringing big ideas to life. Leeg is building a solution to a problem people have just accepted for decades and this role unlocks the possibility. Curiosity and a desire to push the boundaries are expected. Leading and growing a team of inhouse and outsourced talented developers.

Skills

Must have experience in: Continuous/frequent delivery in a production environment. Setting up and maintaining cloud architecture (e.g., AWS, Azure, Heroku). Setting up and maintaining a cloud database. TypeScript and React Native mobile. Secure coding practices and patterns, including authentication. Integrating artificial intelligence into applications (generative and predictive). Algorithm design and development. Handling personally identifiable information (PII) and related standards (PIPEDA, GDPR). Hiring, managing, and mentoring developers.

Willing to learn

Qualifications

10+ years of experience Bachelor of Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent. Experience deploying AI/ML or LLM-based products preferred. Excellent communication and systems architecture skills. Product forward development - meaning you love building tech that people love. Passion for human development, education tech, or workforce innovation.
