Department/Unit/Program Description

The Diagnostic Imaging Department (DI) offers a variety of services to inpatients and outpatients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Modalities offered include X-ray, CT, MRI, US, Mammography (including Ontario Breast Screening OBSP), Echocardiography and non-invasive IR procedures.

Orthopedic fracture clinics run multiple days per week, adding to the variety of patients seen. Patient complexity ranges based on individual patient needs.

Position Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Department is currently seeking a Permanent Part-time Medical Radiation Technologist (MRI) to join their team.

Effective Date: July 13, 2026

Essential Qualifications

Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Graduate of an accredited Medical Imaging program. Successful completion of a recognized post-diploma program or equivalent with MRI certification. Recent MRI experience. Completion of Contrast Administration Certification. Proven clinical expertise, with a focus on collaborative teamwork, patient flow optimization and quality improvement initiatives. Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated commitment to service excellence and patient-centered care. Ability to effectively manage stressful situations and resolve conflict in a professional manner. Commitment to staying current with technological advancements and supporting the implementation of best practices. Strong awareness of safety standards and quality assurance principles. Current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (OAMRS) preferred. Previous experience as a clinical preceptor or mentor.

Hours of Work

Must be available for all shifts, Monday to Sunday, including weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may vary according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU Collective Agreement.
